If Toowoomba Region citizens again give him the honour of serving on Council for a second term, Kerry Shine’s priorities are:

• Continued prudent and responsible financial management.

• Priority attention to the 4 first and foremost areas of responsibility put simply as Roads, Rates & Rubbish - and Water. 

• Continuing his campaign for the introduction of a “Ward” system for the election of Councillors, ensuring at least 2 Councillors from Country areas of the Region.

• Continuing the fight to rid Toowoomba of it being the “Obesity City” of the Nation by restricting fast food outlets from being built, especially near schools and to support greater access to sporting facilities for all.

• Realistic approach to planning, encouraging development to meet the ever increasing demand for housing and continued support for Shop Top Living.

• Preservation of a “Green Band” North, West and South of Toowoomba providing healthy lungs for future generations in conjunction with encouragement of active transport.

• Preservation of existing rail corridors connecting our villages to the City and advocating for light rail.

• Be open to the introduction of recycled water to supplement our supply of water from our existing dams and bores and the pipeline from Wivenhoe.
